About Tarmacadam

The material of tarmacadam consists of tar and broken stone and naturally is a dark coloured, bituminous material that can be laid on almost any surface with the right preparation. When compressed the broken stones are held together by the tar giving the look and finish of a long lasting and highly durable tarmacadam surface.

Advantages

Tarmac driveways are more visually appealing than other driveways due to their clean and gleaming look.

A tarmac driveway will convey a brilliant first impression of your home and will impress all visitors.

Another advantage of choosing  tarmac services is that unlike other driveways, it can be easily installed, and it is relatively low maintenance.

If cracks do appear, another layer of tarmac can rectify most problems unlike other driveways that require specialist attention.

Tarmac is still one of the most popular driveway paving options in the UK today due to its great appearance and lasting installation.

Tarmac, due to its colour is also excellent at hiding dirty marks and stains. Tarmac can also be used in conjunction with block paving for added effect.

Tarmacadam (more commonly known as tarmac) is known as one of the most effective ways to pave a path, driveway or any large area that will be used for vehicles.

The tarmacadam mixture is laid while hot and viscous, levelled and compacted, and then allowed to cool so that it binds to form a solid, hard-wearing surface.

Wherever possible, tarmacadam driveways should be laid using a paving machine as this ensures the best compression and therefore finish.

Sometimes it is not possible to use a machine in areas such as small garden paths, but we have alternative methods.

Our tarmacadam driveways are available in the traditional colours of red and black.

Various edgings using different materials can be created to accentuate your driveway.
